With such a fitting name, it's really hard to pass up the opportunity to go in, sit down, and relax. There are big screen televisions that are always showing the latest game or news updates...the staff is super-friendly, the atmosphere is relaxed, but also feels ready to get rowdy at the drop of a hat....or puck! There is karaoke, monthly draws and contests, and they show UFC every pay-per-view night! They also have pool tables, foosball tables, a few virtual hunting game-machines, and another tabletop game that's almost like curling. It is mainly a sports bar, but the decor and atmosphere make it more of a college-student hangout than a bar for jock-types. There are even beer placemats with predictions of next week's footy scores - always fun to read! It's a fun spot to hang out with old pals or even make a few new ones. They have managed to acquire a house and lot via a housing loan and now Allie is getting obsessed with the idea of furnishing it. She has been contemplating on a more fairy tale kind of theme with rustic furniture. This went on and on for about 5 months then she switched to modern minimalist theme where she started researching on slating and tiling. We were actually convinced that it is the theme she has decided on with all the data she has gathered but we got the surprise of our lives when she said she has changed her mind. As of November of last year she has changed her mind and is now thinking of going with the Japanese styled furnishing where instead of using four post beds they would be using futons. Vince has stayed out of Allie's madness and left her to do as she please otherwise he'd probably go mad too. |

Finally, a Team Building for Our Teamposted on 23 March 2012 in Home and GardenSo we finally went to a team building, which turned out to be a team getaway. But we had fun. The members who went became closer than before. It was just sad that we didn't get everyone to go but we were fortunate enough for our boss gave us free vacation leave slots for our team building. The team was a bit doubtful about it pushing through. I myself no longer want to go to the team building but when I posted the updates on our wall, they finally realized that it was going to push through. The room that we rented was big enough for us. It reminded me of the English houses that you see by the sea minus the rhepanol roofing. It has a cottage where you can sit together to watch and listen to the waves and enjoy the breeze as you talk about anything under the sun. It's just a shame that we had to leave the day after for our budget was just enough for a day stay. And it was a shame that we didn't get to the thing that we wanted to do but I am hoping that we will have another trip soon. |

We used to use it often when the children were young, but now they have flown the nest and the room is cold and unused mot of the time. What I would dearly love to do is to change it into a beautifully peaceful and tranquil haven, complete with secure window locks. Somewhere for me to kick my shoes off and relax with a good book. What would I do though, how would I achieve this; this is something I often ask myself. After much thought, I have come to the conclusion that it really would not be that difficult to do. All I need to do is get rid of the table and chairs and add a lick of paint. I would choose a soothing colour; peach or a barley there pink. Add a comfy sofa and a few cushions, a few shelves to store the books and 'hey presto' I have myself a reading room. |
